Welcome!

Welcome to my blog!  Please understand that I am totally new to this whole weblog thing, so your patience is solicited as I try to publish a page that looks halfway interesting.

Those who know me well realize that I have a passion for public speaking and for writing - gifts that God has graciously given to me, yet gifts that have been dormant for a number of years.  It wasn't until the urging of those close to me coupled with a strange telephone call that I had even considered blowing the dust off of one of those gifts and fan it into flame again.  I guess those of you who read this will have to be the judge as to whether or not you see my gifting, but the risk is worth it.

My first post was aroused after - of all things - reading the weblog of the son of a dear friend of mine.  His weblog was created to simply communicate with others around the country the news of his beautiful wife's health after she battled a condition that nearly took her life.  Thankfully she survived her frightening ordeal and is well on her way to recovery.  But his weblog became even more than a avenue to share this experience.  It became a vehicle to share some of his thoughts about the depth of his relationship with God, and as he poured out his heart in a recent post, it prompted me to want to share my first article with you.

You may consider this article to be a strange one with which to start, but it is one that speaks to what has been in my heart lately as I have seen wonderful people struggle with living in their physical bodies on this earthly journey.  Hopefully something that you read touches you deeply.  Thank you for reading.
